London.- Archer (John Wykeham) Vestiges of Old London: A Series of Etchings from Original Drawings, 37 etched plates, all hand-coloured, tissue-guards, frontispiece trimmed and tipped into blank leaf, bound in striking blue morocco, by Stikeman & Co. of New York, covers with panel of interwoven strapwork & leaves in blind with small gilt dots within tooled foliate & ruled border in gilt, spine in compartments in gilt & blind and five raised bands, tan morocco doublures with gilt floral corner-pieces & red & green morocco onlays and gilt ruled & tooled border, blue silk moiré endpapers (front detached), signed at foot of rear doublure, g.e., joints a little worn with bump to foot of spine, folio, 1851.*** A handsome hand-coloured copy of this work published in the year of the Great Exhibition, and mainly illustrating the poorer areas of London not depicted elsewhere.
