Description
19th century two door Biedermeier cabinet. Triangular pediment flanked by two ebonized spheres, molded cornice, two cabinet doors with radiating slats open to reveal three shelves, columns at each side, all raised on four block feet. Ebonized elements throughout, including shield form inlay key plates. 81 x 50.5 x 18.25 inches. Provenance: Collection of ceramicist Edward S. Eberle (American, 1944-2023). Previously in the collection of operatic bass-baritone Richard Cowan (American, 1957-2015).
Condition
Locking mechanism not functional. Veneer lifting, cracked, and chipped in several areas. A few loose slats. No fabric or glass on doors.
