Description
A fine Indian gold-damascened tegha, 1st half of the 19th centuryMassive, extremely wide single-edged blade with double-edged point of diamond section. Eight fullers on either side with finely etched Damascus pattern. Richly decorated with iron chiselling and profuse, well preserved gold damascening. Depiction of courtiers, hunting scenes and various wildlife (elephant, gazelle, lion, panther etc.). A fine double fuller along the back. Typical iron hilt with large disc-shaped pommel. Overall well retained floral gold damascening. Length 93.5 cm.Condition: I - II
