made in 1950, attributed Guilford County, NC, top pieced in a "spool of thread" motif in blue and yellow, covered allover with embroidered names, with green border and backing of gray, pink, and blue printed stripes.
5 ft. 7 in. x 6 ft. 8 in.
Quilts such as this were made as fundraiser items for churches, schools, and clubs, where each raffle ticket buyer's name was embroidered on the quilt, and the winner of the raffle received the quilt as a prize.
