1863 Emancipation of SLAVERY in America CIVIL WAR French Colonies Cochin RARE
Augustin Cochin was a 19th-century French politician known for his support of the Union during the American Civil War. He was a staunch supporter of the Unions stance on slavery abolition and the emancipation of slaves throughout America. In his book LAbolition de lesclavage, first published in 1861, Cochin recounts the slavery throughout the Western Hemisphere, its establishment, and ultimate abolition in American, French colonies, and other Latin American countries. “Results of Emancipation”, as it is known in English, describes the effects of slavery and its emancipation on English and American colonies and how international imports were affected.
This 1863 English edition was translated from the original French by Mary Booth.
