DESCRIPTION: Russian "Finist the Falcon" Papier Mache Lacquer Box. "Finist the Falcon" is a Russian fairy tale collected by Alexander Afanasyev in Narodnye russkie skazki. The black lacquered box with red lacquer interior, depicts a hand painted interior scene, with the prince as a bird, flying next to the princess, with the cathedral as a backdrop. Signed and titled. With sticker on verso that reads: Made in the USSR.
