RMS Orion was launched in 1934 by the Orient Steam Navigation Company and designed to carry over 1600 passengers and crew from Europe through the Pacific to Australia. Her sister ship was the Orcades, launched two years later. This lovely little handbuilt model shows great detail and patina, and her case measures 4 1/2" wide x 5" high x 17" long. There is a small crack in the end glass of the case.
