Gustave Cimiotti, Jr. (1875 - 1969) Oil on Artist Board, Titled ''Rolling Hills" Measures ( 8 x 10.5 inches ) w/frame ( 9.5 x 12 inches ) Called the "Grand Old Man of Romanticism," Gustave Cimiotti was one of the exhibitors at the Armory Show of 1913 with two entries, The Barrier" and "Hillside. He was a student of John Twachtmann and also studied at the Academy Julian in Paris. He was a close friend of John La Farge and Winslow Homer.
