Hollingsworth, Louis Zansky.Ballsy Baker: An African tortures a sexy white gal on the wheel (note that her bra strap is unfastened, a salacious detail sure to have been sniffed out by randy readers hunting for smut morsels on the newsstands of the pre-Playboy era). The lead story, possibly by African-American pulchritude powerhouse Matt Baker, flouts the racial taboos of the day by showing a Teutonic warlord resting his head in the luxuriant lap of a sexy soul sister, who strokes his gleaming pate while mixing sex talk with sedition: "Hush, handsome one.... At last my people are rising to claim their place in the world.... The white men will not know what struck them." Her pointy metal breastplate is poised inches from her pale plaything's pan, a ballsy move on Baker's part, if Baker is indeed the artist. Drawing spicy interracial stuff seems like it'd fetch a brother a peck of trouble, back then.______________________________________________________________
