These two tomes, geared towards gals, are part of a tongue-in-cheek attempt to rehabilitate Crumb's rep as a misanthropic horndog. As the publisher of the UK edition says on the jacket flap: "We at MQ Publications feel that we owe it to our dear, dear friend R. Crumb to help him establish a more positive public image with women. So many women find his work so repellant, they won't give him a chance.... It pains us to see how deeply hurt and saddened he is, the poor darling, by the negative response of women to his work."

A conciliatory Crumb keeps the spin in motion: "Being a delightful collection of adorable, heart-warming and lovingly rendered drawings which, I promise, will not make you feel threatened in any way, and will put you in a state all warm and fuzzy and cuddly towards the artist and life in general."______________________________________________________________
