Description: Collaboration by R. Crumb and Gilbert Shelton; signed by Gilbert Shelton. 14" x 17". Good to very good; creases and wear to corners, nicks and creases to edges, some light creases and marks to image area, top layer of paper worn away near top edge of poster, does not affect image area, tanning to verso.Wonderful image of a jukebox by Crumb and Shelton. Unlike Griffin and Moscoso, Crumb didn't produce many concert posters, although he certainly tried to break into the category. As Crumb told Al Davorin in an issue of Promethean Enterprises:
"I saw a couple of these [Fillmore/Avalon] posters when I was in Cleveland and I thought, 'God, what's happening out there; it's kind of fascinating.' I'd never seen anything quite like those posters. There were some artists who had been taking LSD; you could tell, the tell-tale signs of LSD-taking going on there.... That's part of the reason I went out there, but when I went down there with some of my cartoons, Chet Helms down at Family Dog said he didn't think my stuff and Wilson's stuff was suitable to the psychedelic poster medium, so..."______________________________________________________________
A limited edition of ten hardcover catalogues is available, in addition to a few dozen softcovers. Fun reference, great keepsake, fully illustrated, chockablock with obscure facts, gags, bon mots.
