Description
English, mahogany trunk-type chest with brass fittings, velvet lining to interior, the lifting lid to compartments housing four larger, five medium and six smaller pharmacy bottles with stoppers, the majority with handwritten paper content labels, two with chamois covers, five replacement bottles four of which have facet cut shoulders and plated lid with engraving, with brass retaining rod to drawer with compartments beneath, a removable section with compartments housing a handheld brass balance and weights, the drawer with a glass mortar and pestle, a plated funnel and two glass pots with plated lids (one with significant crack but intact, both possibly replacements) and four further glass bottles with stoppers and handwritten paper content labels and one replacement bottle and stopper – 21cm. x 21cm. x 16.5cm.
