Description
Two 18th C famille rose Chinese export tea caddies in the shape of ginger jars with cream ground, pink, green and blue hand-painting. One features a bouquet of flowers with geometric patterningaround the neck. The other features bouquets of flowers with bumblebee sprays and geometric patterning around the neck. Both have scrolling openwork around their foot. Chinese manufacture for a European audience, mid-to-late 18th C. One has a mark to the bottom indicating it was purchased from Matthew and Elisabeth Sharpe in the state of Pennsylvania.One is missing a lid. H. of tallest to finial: 12 cm (4 3/4 in.)
