Description
T. R. Williams Stereocard, Scenes in Our Village, No.7a, text to reverse reads 'SCENES IN OUR VILLAGE. THE DAME AND SPINNING WHEEL. THE LAST IN THE VILLAGE. A generation long hath passed away, And yet another passes day by day; And still the ancient dame her labour plies, As when she saw that generation rise, And in despite of age can not forget The dress she sported when a young coquette.’ Condition: image good. Note: These 1850's views are of the village of Hinton Waldrist in Oxfordshire and are considered to be Williams's masterpiece. They were the subject of the book 'A Village Lost and Found', by Brian May & Elena Vidal, published 2009.
