Description
A small group of railroad telegraph sounders including two on cast metal bases measuring 7 1/4" x 4 1/4" stamped Signal Electric Mfg Co Menominee Michigan Relay SW 37 150 Ohms 916. Both show stickers, paint loss to the base, moderate discoloration and dust from storage. The spring on one is loosely coiled. Also includes a pair of JH Bunnell sounders mounted to wooden bases. The Western Union sounder on black base marked WU TEL Co has a patent date of May 7, 1895 and show cracks to the wire insulator plastic on the bottom, general discoloration, signs of use, and dust from storage. The other sounder on wooden base marked Main Line Sounder 15B 30 Ohms has an attached tag with the telegraph sounder's information. No railroad or WU stamp to this sounder. Shows paint loss to the barrels, general discoloration and wear from age and storage. See photos for best description.
