The pass appears to be two pieces that were glued together. The back also shows skinning at the bottom right. 1881 pass No. 1818 issued to Honorable Geo Barton president of Boston, Barre & Gardner Railroad, showing mild discoloration and edge wear. 1882 pass No. 1547 issued to an individual from the Atchison Topeka & Santa Fe Railroad, with map on the back, showing moderate discoloration and edge wear from handling. 1883 pass No. 1937 issued to EO Ruggles of Buffalo, New York & Philadelphia Railroad, with map on the back, showing a bend at the top left corner, staining across the center and lower right corner, edge wear, and glue stain across the back.
