Description
This vintage map, created by R. Bonne and Raynal between 1775 and 1780, depicts the northwestern region of Africa. It includes named coastal areas and features the Canary Islands and Cape Verde. The map is part of "Histoire Philosophique et Politique des Etablissemens" a significant work from the Age of Enlightenment with contributions from Diderot. Due to its controversial content, the publication faced a ban in France and was consequently published in Geneva, Switzerland. Crafted using copperplate engraving, this map is in overall very good condition, with authenticity guaranteed. It measures 15" x 9".
