Each chair has thick hard mat seat square smooth, the back there is a support and has curve and handrails that are slightly rounded on the lips, all carved with very detail of interlocking lingzhi fungus and scrolling ruyi. Raised with four strong straight legs and bridged by sturdy stretched bars to two sides that conjoined each leg, the whole supported on legs of rectangles square section joined by stepped stretchers on hoofed foot. This Chinese chairs gives a strong and antique impression of luxury. Zitan is an extremely dense wood which sinks in water. It is a member of the Zitan family and is botanically classified in the Pterocarpus genus. The lumber is blackish-purple in hue, and its fibers are loaded with deep red pigments which have been used for dye throughout the ages. The entirety is encased in amazing relief carving which gives this throne a captivating appearance.
