American Waltham Watch Co., Waltham, Mass., a model 1892 "Vanguard" pocket watch with wind indicator, 18 size, 23 jewels, stem wind and lever set, adjusted, damascened nickel plate movement with lever escapement, cut bimetallic balance with gold screws, gold jewel settings, and Ohlson micrometric regulator in a 14 karat, yellow gold, hinged back and bezel, reeded edge, engine turned and engraved open face case, arabic numeral, triple sunk white enamel dial with blued steel hands, serial #16188345, 146.5g TW
Condition
CASE: Band with minor flat spot, 9:00; A few small, shallow dents, back; Fine scratches on outer surface of case; Fine scratches on cuvette; Engine turning and engraving with moderate wear; Bow with minor wear; Crown worn; Precious metal content marked. DIAL: Chips and filled losses at wind indicator. HANDS: Mismatched. MOVEMENT PLATES: Very fine scratches on plate; Two significant scratches on barrel bridge at bridge screw by serial number; Winding wheels with fine scratches and specks of oxide; Regulator assembly with specks of oxide. MOVEMENT FUNCTION: Running order (winds, sets and ticks); Wind indicator functional, circa 1905
