Description
(1920 - 1942) German ace serving principally in North Africa, he had 158 kills in 482 sorties. Marseille was awarded a Knights Cross with Diamonds, and was rated by Galland as the war's best pilot. He was killed bringing in his crippled Me-109. War-date D.S., 1p. 8 x 4 in., [North Africa], June 7, 1942, a receipt for the delivery of tropical helmets, tents, goggles, flight vests, etc., signed at bottom in blue ink. Ragged left margin with file holes, else very good.
