Description
(1896 - 1949) German Chief of Staff of the Reich Commissioner for the Consolidation of German Nationhood, instrumental in the forced relocation of Eastern populations. In February 1942, whilst serving on Himmler's staff, he wrote a directive accusing the Polish government of seizing ethnic German children and ordered orphans who 'looked' German to be forcefully examined by the SS Race and Settlement Office before undergoing extensive psychological study. Those that were racially acceptable were sent to German boarding schools and made available for adoption by the families of SS members. Sentenced to life imprisonment for war crimes. Cut signature, mounted to an 8.25 x 11.5 in. copied mug shot photo of Greifelt holding a card with his name at the Nuremberg Trials. Fine.
