Description
Lot of nine World War II combat reports, all from Polish squadrons 302 and 303. Each report is 1p. 4to. and dated 1940. The reports read in part: ‘...We took on close fighter escort and I singled out one Bf 109. I gave it several short deflection shots...I then got into position for a longer burst from below astern when I was attacked by another 109...corkscrewed to lose him...I went down and gave him a short burst from 250 yards and closing. Ammunition hit the top of fuselage and rear cockpit glass went thru [sic]...Scrambled to intercept a formation of e/a comprising of about 20 Bombers with fighter escort flying...My hits were evident...its engine belching smoke...They dived out of the sun and caught us by surprise...I saw a Bf 109 go down in flames and go into the sea...E/A belly landed on water and behan [sic] to sink. I circled and saw 4 crew members take to a dinghy...’ Nine pieces, very good.
