Pair of photos from the Nuremberg 'Einsatzgruppen Trial' of 24 former SS leaders who, as commanders of the Einsatzgruppen of the Security Police and the SD, bore responsibility for the crimes committed by the Einsatzgruppen in the occupied Soviet Union. The photos, back stamped: 'From Public Relations Photo Section Office Chief of Counsel for War Crimes Nurnberg...' and with printed captions, both depict defendant OTTO RASCH (1891-1948) being carried into court on a stretcher borne by armed American guards. Fine condition. Rasch commanded Einsatzgruppe C in northern and central Ukraine until October 1941. His illness, attributed to 'nerves' in the captions, had his case discontinued on Feb. 5, 1948, since his physical and mental health were rapidly deteriorating from Parkinson's disease and associated dementia.
