Wehrmacht M35 helmet still showing the Heer decal affixed to the left side. This aluminum bale helmet is complete with an eight-finger brown leather liner, lacking chinstrap. Heat stamped on the interior skirt ‘SE66’, indicating manufacture by Sachsische Emaillier- und Stanzwerke, Lauter and a size ‘66’, further marked with a heating lot code ‘3989’. Expected wear to the leather which is a bit stiff and some wear to the exterior paint, mainly at the crown. This was a partial conversion to the M40 regulation helmet protocol, probably done while still in service, with the application of matte camo paint brushed on over the new M40 regulation paint scheme. Still retaining the original aluminum liner of it's M35 origins. Overall, excellent.
