Description
Oversize original Hitler election poster, 32 x 47 in., titled ‘The club friend of the Reichschancellor Arnold Rechberg [offers a] military alliance with France!'. It reads, in small part: ‘…The ‘Deutsche Rundchau [newsmagazine]’ in Poland reported on October 6, 1932 that the major industrialist…envisioned a military preponderance of France with 500,000 soldiers compared to the German troop strength of 300,000…The current government is quite nationalistic…but Francophile…Good relations between England and Germany, which were created over years of careful work by Adolf Hitler, are being wasted!...Elect the keepers of national honor, the nationalist socialists!’. The poster then urges the viewer to mark number ‘2’ on the ballot. A bit of loss at the top right edge, otherwise very good. Arnold Rechberg (1879-1949) was a German industrialist and journalist best remembered for his attempts to pursue a ‘private’ foreign policy with France…and accused of such in this poster!
