Description
Reproduction product catalog for the porcelain factory Porzellan Manufaktur Allach, 50pp. 4to, issued 1938/39, bearing 87 black-and-white images of the company's goods, including ornate animal statuettes, various candlesticks and other household items, and statuettes of Third Reich soldiers and workers, including one bust of Adolf Hitler himself. One page bears the names of ten ‘artistic employees’ working for Allach, and another bears the printed quote by Adolf Hitler: ‘No people live longer than documents of culture’. The front cover contains stylized SS runes – adopted by the company as a maker's mark in the top left corner, above a decorated depiction of two Allach products. Light surface scratches to the cover, mentioned only for accuracy, else excellent condition. The porcelain factory Porzellan Manufaktur Allach was established as a private concern in 1935. In 1936 the factory was acquired by Heinrich Himmler to produce works of art that would represent, in Himmler's eyes, true Germanic culture. Production was based at Allach, the largest subcamp of Dachau, and it used slave labor in the production of these pieces.
