Description
A very rare original poster, 38 x 26 in. mint green stock with black text, advertising a speech by Elsbeth Zander on the topic of ‘The German Woman’s Struggle in the Fight for Germany’s Future!’, held in an unspecified ‘Standard Chapel’. Doors open at 7:15pm, with the admission fee of 50 Pfennig. Elsbeth Zander (1888-1963) was the founder of the Deutschen Frauenordern (German Order of Women), the predecessor to the NS-Frauenshaft (NS Women’s Association). Opposing the notion of an independent ‘new women’ promulgated by the Weimar Republic, Zander sought to establish the role of women as ‘soldiers’ serving Germany and protecting its future. She was an outspoken supporter of the indispensable role of women, particularly as mothers and educators, in the development of a racially pure German state. Just a couple of tape reinforcements at the edges, very good.
