Silver teaspoon, 5.5 in. long, once owned and used by Nazi Party secretary Rudolf Hess. The spoon features a simplistic design, though still displays the ornate engraving of his initials ‘R H’. Hallmarks on the reverse of the spine include the crescent and imperial crown, an ‘800’ silver purity stamp, and the ‘G R’ maker mark for Gebruder Reiner of Bavaria. Typical tarnish, else very good. This piece of silverware is part of a larger collection (other pieces seen throughout this auction) which has been carried down through the Hess family over the years and has been consigned to us from a direct descendent of Rudolf Hess. A fine collectible, as unlike his Nazi contemporaries, Hess chose not to mark every piece of his silverware with his monogram.
