Scarce World War I-era poster, 18.5 x 27 in., shows two muscular arms gripping a ship’s wheel bearing the words ‘Deutschenationale Volkspartie’, while at the bottom it reads ‘Elect German Nationalists’. The Deutsche Volkspartie (or DVP) was a conservative-liberal party formed in 1918 as an answer to the excesses of the Weimar Republic. It turned more to the right in the 1920s, but eventually fell out of favor in lieu of more conservative groups by 1932. Linen-backed, fine condition.
