American Red Cross World War I propaganda poster, 19 x 28 in., showing ‘Columbia’, a Romanesque-styled female personification of America as she holds a pen and a Red Cross nurse standing next to her holding up a scroll. The scroll reads: ‘Where Columbia Sets Her Name Let Everyone Of You Follow Her’. A blue banner at the bottom bears red text, reading ‘RED CROSS CHRISTMAS ROLL’, announcing the 1918 Red Cross donation drive. At the bottom is the printed signature for E.H. Blashfield, and the date 1918, with the printing line for Sackett & Wilhelms Corp. of New York at the bottom right margin. Approx. 1 in. tear at the top left, else very good.
