This vintage mid 19th century Continental unglazed porcelain cabinet figure features a wonderful whimsical view of an aristocratic lady surprised by a mouse! She is beautifully sculpted & costumed in period clothing. Her facial expression is captured using soft hand painted colors. The lady's beautiful dress is also hand painted & accented with multiple colorful flowers. Presumedly lifting her skirt appears to be a reaction to suddenly seeing a white mouse with her on the solid round platform. The base of the statue is unmarked with the exception of an empty cartouche & L3. The condition of the sculpture is very good. I believe the country of origin is either France or Germany.10 1/2" tall X 6 1/8" diameter
