The above is the only printed report by the military escort that we have been able to locate. The party of 1862 left Fort Stanton, four miles from Omaha, on June 16, traveling by way of Fort Kearny, Fort Laramie, the Lander Cutoff, to Grand Ronde and finally arriving at Walla Walla on October 14.
