Description: [4], 104 pp. Woodcut with beehive device on title page; woodcut head & tailpieces. (8vo) 18.4x11.8 cm (7¼x4½"), later three-quarters morocco & marbled boards, spine titled in gilt. First Edition.Pamphlet addressing patently unfounded claims that the climate of Georgia was unhealthy, that the soil was barren, that there were no products for trade, and that lands were granted on improper terms. It also argues against the introduction of slavery. Martyn was secretary to the Trustees of Georgia; authorship of the work has also been attributed to Lord John Percival. The scarce half title is present. Clark I, 122; Howes M354; Sabin 45001.
