Description: 280, [3] pp. Screened gravure illustrations throughout from photographs by Riefenstahl, one per page; captions in German, French, English, Spanish and Italian. 31x23.5 cm (12½x9¼"), red cloth lettered in gilt, dust jacket. First Edition.Photographic record and tribute to the 1936 Olympic games held in Berlin, by the photographer who was the favorite of the German dictator. The Human form is honored as well as the contestants, and even Jesse Owens is given recognition as the world's fastest man. Roth, pp.96-97.
Condition
Moderate jacket wear, mostly expertly repaired, cloth shelfwear; edges foxing, interior clean; near fine in like jacket.
