Louis XV Ormolu-Mounted Kingwood and Tulipwood Marquetry Commode, Stamped C. Wolff JME

Fitted with a molded marble top with rounded corners and sans traverse.

Christophe Wolff matire in 1755.

32 3/4 x 40 3/4 x 19 1/2 in.

Condition

Minor scuffing and chips along the back side of the marble with minor nicks to the front and one loss on the front right corner. Veneer lifting on the right-side panel with minor scattered veneer losses throughout. Minor age splits and wear. The drawers slide well and are lined in a damask fabric. Escutcheons added later. Structurally sound and nicely inlaid. Presents well.
