Description
REDLICH & CO. ANTLER-HANDLED AND STERLING SILVER-MOUNTED CUT GLASS CIGAR HUMIDOR, colorless, loving cup form, cylindrical glass well with cut punty and double-zipper columns, sterling-mounted rim with scroll and beaded lower border and band around the base, attached to terminals for the two antler handles, each set with a cigar lamp to top, lacking cover. Rim impressed with a maker's mark for Redlich & Co. of New York City, NY (active 1895-1946/1970) in addition to "STERLING" and "398 PAT." Together with a colorless cut glass sugar shaker having silver-plated cap and rim, unmarked. Two pieces total. Late 19th/early 20th century. Humidor 7 3/4" HOA, 6 3/8" H, 5" D rim.
Condition
Humidor in very good overall condition with some wear, surface scratches, and nicks, rim with two dents, one handle slightly loose but secure, glass with a few minor pattern flakes otherwise undamaged, lacking cover; sugar shaker with a spall to side edge of one zipper column, a bruise to lower side of another zipper column, otherwise undamaged.
