Description
Han Dynasty Chinese Pottery Granary. Simplified yet realistic pottery construction of a granary, crafted on a terracotta body with traces of green glaze that have now degraded to a silvery iridescence in places. Circa 206 BC - 220 AD, Han Dynasty. Measures approximately 12 3/4" x 15" x 6 1/2". Has antique restorations. Retains original invoice and certificate of authenticity from K & Soon Limited, Hong Kong, both dated May of 1988. This item originates from the estate of John A. Williams, a distinguished philanthropist and renowned collector. Mr. Williams and his partner Dewitt Hart were influential members of San Francisco's art society and were celebrated for their discerning taste in modern, ethnographic, and fine art. Over the years, they hosted numerous exhibitions in their home, showcasing their prestigious collection to appreciative audiences. All proceeds of items from this estate benefit the Hart Williams Rainbow Fund, a nonprofit working with the LGBTQIA+ community in the San Francisco Bay Area.
