Carved Teak Figure of a Kinnara. Burmese wood carving depicting "Nora Singha," a mythological figure representing a Hindu incarnation of a deity. Measures approximately 27" x 21" x 6". In good condition consistent with age and use. Retains original receipt from Richard Gervais Collection, San Francisco, dated July 12th, 2010. This item originates from the estate of John A. Williams, a distinguished philanthropist and renowned collector. Mr. Williams and his partner Dewitt Hart were influential members of San Francisco's art society and were celebrated for their discerning taste in modern, ethnographic, and fine art. Over the years, they hosted numerous exhibitions in their home, showcasing their prestigious collection to appreciative audiences. All proceeds of items from this estate benefit the Hart Williams Rainbow Fund, a nonprofit working with the LGBTQIA+ community in the San Francisco Bay Area.
