Description
ASSORTED EARLY EUROPEAN BRASS CANDLESTICKS, LOT OF THREE, each with two large square extracting holes and having a lightly scalloped top edge, comprising two capstan examples including one of hexagonal form, having a scalloped edge candle socket and knop, top of extracting hole with additional circular-form holes, remaining example of squat form and with a flat drip plate; and one example with domed base and ringed candle cup edge. Each unmarked. Probably Spanish or Flemish/Dutch origin. 16th/17th century. 2 3/4" to 4 1/2" H.

Deaccessioned by the Valentine Museum, Richmond, VA to benefit collections care, preservation, and future acquisitions.
Condition
Very good overall condition with expected wear, expected scattered light denting and some separations to edges, smallest capstack with small losses to mid-drip pan edge.
