BUFFALO POTTERY ROYCROFT ARTS & CRAFTS CERAMIC PLATES, SET OF SIX, each featuring brown, black, and green Art Deco geometric pattern on edge with Roycroft logo and double-barred cross and circle and "R". Marks to underside include four having black-printed buffalo with "SEMI-VITREOUS / BUFFALO / POTTERY" and two having green-printed "BUFFALO / POTTERY / 1925 / ROYCROFT." Together with a 1969 edition of the Altmans' The Book of Buffalo Pottery. Seven pieces total. Buffalo Pottery, Buffalo, NY. First quarter 20th century. 9 3/8" D.

Catalogue Note: The Roycroft Inn in East Aurora, New York was home to the Roycroft Arts and Crafts community. Elbert Hubbard, the founder of the Roycroft community was the brother-in-law to John Durrant Larkin, the founder of Larkin Soap and Buffalo Pottery.

Plate in excellent undamaged condition with expected glaze crazing and some minor light short scattered scratches from use; book having personal inscription to interior of front and back cover and creased book jacket.
