Bodo Rasch
Chair for the Café Insel in the house of the German Employees' Union in Stuttgart. Designed in 1946-49. Stained wood and plywood, plastic covering. 76 x 46 x 49 cm. Variant with backrest stained green on the front and red braid.
While Willi Baumeister was responsible for the room decor, Bodo Rasch designed the interior of this artist meeting place, which was very well known at the time. His friend Otto Dix called Bodo Rasch the 'Raffael of chairs' in a letter.
