Contains No's 1 through 16 (June 1825 through January 1826.) 8vo. 437, [1, errata] pp, + folding frontis and 10 plates; text with music and other illustrations, some printed in sepia. Note the final 3 leaves (i.e. Contents and Errata) bound at front in this copy. Bound in modern cloth. ************** First collected edition. From the preface, concerning this publication: "It contains the first specimens of Letter Press printed from Stone – a circumstance which, it may be presumed, will render it an object of future curiosity...." Very rare – RBH records the last auction appearance in 1976 at Sotheby's.
Condition
Old ownership stamps of Thomas Francis Fowler to title and a few other leaves, a few instances of very minor foxing, mostly clean throughout.
