Description
Eastern Europe, 19th/20th Century. Two icons, one depicting the Theotokos as the Virgin Eleousa, painted on wood panel, with a gilt-metal chased and relief oklad, unmarked 8 34" x 7"; and a gilt-metal printed litho icon of Christ Pantocrator (circa 1910s), 5 1/8" x 4 1/4" (framed 8" x 7"). Condition: the oklad with a small spot of loss, otherwise good overall; the later icon in good condition. Together with a contemporary printed reproduction miniature of the Dormition (frame 14 1/4" x 12 1/4"). Provenance: Private Collection, Northern California.
