Picturesque California was an 1888 "coffee table" book edited by John Muir, published by the J. Dewing Publishing company, featuring over 600 etchings, photogravures, and wood etchings, 700 additional illustrations in the text, and 120 tinted plates. The original work was sold by subscription and was distributed monthly in thirty parts. Muir wrote six of the articles. Vol.THREE (of 10 Volumes) of Picturesque California, the Rocky Mountains and the Pacific slope; California, Oregon, Nevada, Washington, Alaska, Montana, Idaho, Arizona, Colorado, Utah, Wyoming, etc. -- Imperial Japan edition, Numbered 26 of 100 copies.Extremely heavy, weighing approximately 18 pounds.Each volume contained 12 signed, mounted and matted photogravures and etchings printed on India paper, as well as additional copies printed on silk.Philadelphia: George Barrie & Son, Ca. 1888.
