Description
American (Chester County, Pennsylvania), late-18th Century (dated 1787). Silk embroidery depicting a bird perched on a tree stump, facing another bird. Chamfered poplar back panel with notation, done by "Martha Roberts, year 1797". She was later Martha Nixon. Molded frame, 11.75"w. 9.5"h.
