Adam Anderson (Scotland, ca. 1692-1765) was an economist who worked as a clerk in London. According to Sabin, the book "contains a most accurate account of the South-Sea Company, and the very extraordinary actions of the year 1720" (Sabin 1382).

Boards scuffed and rubbed with edgewear, corners heavily rubbed, vol. 2 with marks and small leather losses on back board; spines rubbed and creased with loss at head and tail; joints cracked, fragile yet boards still attached; interior lightly toned, scattered foxing (heavier in vol. 2), occasional minor offsetting and small edge loss, one wormhole at rear paste-down of vol. 2; overall pages unmarked and with wide margins; maps very good with toning and foxing.
