Description
Swiss pianist and conductor of Hungarian origin. A precocious musician, he gave his first concerts at the age of eight. He studied at the prestigious Franz-Liszt Academy in Budapest. In 1956 he left Hungary and moved to Switzerland, where he travelled throughout Europe. He lived in London for some time and made recordings for Deutcshe Grammophon. He was musical director of the Northern Sinfonia of England and principal conductor of the Bournemouth Sinfonietta. He conducted most of the major British orchestras.Photograph with autograph dedication signed dated Mont Pèlerin, 01.03.1968: "A la gentille famille de Rham avec nos amitié de plus affectueuse et avec remerciement pour la magnifique hospitalité"; Printed concert program signed and dated Lausanne, 08.03.1968.
