Box *I don't know if it was originally included with this watch but I think it roughly matches the age.

condition
*Good condition considering the age
*Considering its age it is in dead stock condition with very few small scratches and signs of use.
The design only takes into account the ease of reading the time and it is in a dead stock condition so you can't really feel the depth of flavor that is unique to antique watches.
*There are no noticeable scratches on the plastic windshield.
There is a small "U" logo mark in the center of the plastic windshield so it is a genuine plastic windshield.
*An aftermarket leather belt shows some signs of use.
comment
*White dial
*Plastic windshield screw back
*Incablock earthquake-resistant device Flat balance spring Balance screw balance Swan-neck fine adjustment device 18 000 vibrations Second hand stop mechanism
*The movement structure is older than the typical 1960s movements. The structure is similar to a small seconds movement with a gear added to create a center seconds movement.
*The ruggedness of the parts of the second hand stop mechanism is impressive.
Railway clocks have this kind of structure because the second hand stop mechanism is important and frequently used.
*The second hand stop mechanism of this movement is designed to stop the balance wheel regardless of the force with which the crown is pulled so I think there is less stress on the balance wheel.
The watch starts moving by lifting the stopper that stops the balance wheel using a lever that is linked to the crown.
The movement of the balance wheel is stopped by releasing the raised stopper with a lever linked to the crown. At this time the stopper that stops the balance wheel from moving is moved by the action of a spring so it is not affected by the force of pulling the crown.
*Since it is a railway clock it has excellent operability.
Setting the time is very easy and it is also easy to align the minute scale and minute hand exactly. The minute hand does not move slightly when the crown is pushed in. The minute hand also starts moving at the same time as you push in the crown so there is no misalignment between the second hand and minute hand when you set the time at the 0 second position.
*This is a watch that is very easy to read the time.
This may be fine since it's a railway clock but I don't think much consideration was given to design aspects other than ease of reading the time.
*It is a practical watch but for some reason it has been given a decorative treatment called ``gold plating.'' Possible reasons for this may include the fact that they were sold for civilian use with decorative elements added to them or that they were produced in small quantities as souvenirs for service anniversaries. Or perhaps gold-plated railway clocks were also used at the site?
