Silver & Gold Balloon Etching By Yves Beaujard. This was etched in sterling silver and embellished with 24-karat gold and issued by the Franklin Mint on July 1, 1979. The framed etching is approx 12" x 3/4" x 17 1/4" and it weighs 2.47 lbs. The framed etching is in good, vintage condition with some wear and smudges & scratches on the plex and some debris between the plex and etching, along with some markings on the back and scratches on the plex. Yves Beaujard was a French engraver and illustrator during the mid-20th century. He's mostly known for his stamp and banknote designs but produced this limited edition hot air balloon set for the Franklin Mint in 1983, for the bicentennial of manned flight.
