By Erte: “A beautiful woman holds aloft a luminous globe. This is a 3-dimensional version of a cover design I did for Harpers Bazaar, entitled "Fireflies"... This image was inspired by the clouds of fireflies that I observed at night in May when I lived in Monte Carlo."
Erte born Roman De Tirtoff, was a Russian-born French designer who flourished in many fields including set design, fashion, and the graphic arts, spanning most of the 20th century.
